I like to hear your story about fasting, fasting mimicking and Cancer
In 2023 I participated in a study that is looking at the effect a fast mimicking product had on Crohn's disease. Because of that study I started reading about the health benefits of extended fasting. Twelve months after participating in that study I was diagnosed with cancer and was advised to have chemotherapy. I choose to fast around my treatments. The research in breast and colon cancer indicated people who fast had fewer side effects. From chemotherapy. In theory fasting may help the chemotherapy be more effective, but we don't know for sure if that yet.
I'm post chemotherapy. I am receiving a targeted treatment for maintenance, but honestly the cancer I have doesn't respond long term to chemotherapy. The prognosis is poor and it doesn't matter if chemotherapy or radiation was given most people have recurrences and don't live very long.
I am all in on alternative therapies. I am staying with natural therapies at this point. Mostly lifestyle changes.
I am going to make fasting for extended periods part of the plan.
I'm interested in a discussion about fasting as a medical treatment. How do you do it. How frequently is it done. What papers have you read on fasting? What are you learning about fasting.?
Thanks for responding
Denise

The description of your cancer sounds like mine. I had/have mixed serous/clear cell uterine cancer. It's rare, aggressive with a poor prognosis. I'm on a maintenance program. It relatively new. The research was published in 2020 I think. The treatment is old but new for use with uterine cancers.
I'm also looking at nutrition as a compliment to the drugs. I'm working with a holistic doctor but he doesn't really work with fasting. So I'm on my own for that. I'd like to keep talking with you about what you are doing and why
My approach is to correct whatever got me into a condition that made cancer thrive. In other words I'm healing my body and all it's system through nutrition.

Did they do a genomic and receptor analysis on your cancer. Has a hysterectomy been performed.
I am so sorry for you losses due to this diagnosis. The diagnosis of rare cancer with poor outcomes is devastating and friends and family can't understand what it does to the psyche. You sound young, with your comment to correct what caused the cancer. I'm 73 and had planned a life to about my 90's. But know I live 180 days til the next scan and a "NED" ..... Until I get a bad result, I am looking for glimmers of hope thru what others have done, please share what protocol you are on, I have been journaling, therapy ( psychology), reading books, trying to understand my genomic analysis. I plan to include dietary modifications to lessen the impact on the cancer if it returns.
Yes please keep in touch.. I can give you my email if public revelation is not you. Thanks joanne
