Since we are writing about 2 different products in the same article, I have looked at both in the last hour and can provide this summary of the differences in each.
Walkasins - This device has a thin foot pad that fits inside your shoes and contains pressure sensors that provide feedback like a normal person gets from the soles of their feet. A short cable brings these signals up to a battery operated micro-computer box that is strapped to your ankles. The computer translates the signals into tiny vibrations that are barely felt. Your brain learns to interpret these vibrations as you walk and allows you to make corrections that are helpful in your walking and balance. I don't know the cost. Maybe someone can provide that. Their website is https://rxfunction.com/
Both of these devices use a rechargeable battery.
Accelera - This device also uses a micro-computer strapped to your ankles to signal your brain via tiny vibrations (they say you can't even feel them when it is adjusted correctly). But instead of a foot pad it uses accelerometers in the computer circuit to determine what your foot is doing and where it is located. They call it a proprio device. So this device is primaraly designed to improve proprioception, which means the ability of your brain to know where your feet (or hands) are without looking at them. This should really help with driving as you don't have visiblity of your feet then. It might prevent accidents that people with neuropathy have causing them to push the wrong pedal. This device could help with walking and balance as well but it is not promoted as the primary goal. It costs $399 and requires a cell phone to control the setup of it. Website is https://accelera.us/
