I am looking for an exercise video to do.

Hi, I am a senior woman and am looking for an exercise video that I can safely do. I have had both knees and hips replaced abut I want to stay as fit and active as possible. What I am looking for is the actual name of the video. I hope someone has some advice for me. Thanks.😊

I have veiwed many sites and excercise programs for bones. I feel that PT Margaret Martins Melio Guide program is great - it is based on saftey and years of working with our population ( old, elderly as well as young strong and premensopaual) Her program offers various levels but her 'basics' are well worth reveiwing for many of us assume we know things but can find that indeed they are risky for our bone health. She has both a book as well as practice videos. There is a 8 day sample practice to try if you want to see how she works. SHe also offers webinares on medications if you need more support. Personally she is great and kind and supportive person and if you shoose to work with her indiviualy ( via on line connection) you will find her to be wonderful . My best to you and your health.

Thanks so much for your reply and I will check her out. 😀

You should also be sure to note whether you have any spine abnormalities such as scoliosis as this will impact the exercises that you can safely perform. I learned this the hard way.

Your suggestion makes sense, however I don’t have a physical therapist.

If you’re a Medicare beneficiary your PCP can simply write an order for an “Evaluation & Treatment” and then ask them for a recommendation to a PT group near you or go online and search for one yourself.

I watch videos and YouTube’s presented by Margaret Martin. She is a physical therapist who specializes in osteoporosis. I signed up for her emails and appreciate the information and exercise suggestions she provides in them.

PBS has dozens of episodes of chair yoga. I recorded about 50 and can watch them whenever I like.

There are a lot of exercises you can find on U Tube geared to Osteoporosis. There is a program, which I have taken part in at our Senior Center, called "Healthy Bones" and it is a universal program. If you can find that, it is good - slow paced but good as they deal with stengthening most of your bones and helping with balance.

I agree about Margaret Martin and Melioguide. She also has books with exercises that are great.
