Just wanted to see what the medicine and treatment will be like? Just nervous.

@martin300 Hello, and welcome to Mayo Connect. I am sure there is someone here who will be able to reply if we have a little more information. Diagnosis and Treatment of Hyperthyroidism trues to get to the root cause, then a plan can be made.
Sometimes, there is a correctible underlying cause, or some other health condition is causing the problem. When it is corrected, the thyroid may re-regulate itself…
What led to your diagnosis, and are you seeing an endocrinologist?

Yes seeing a specialist. I’m looking for info on side effects to the Radion pills. I have to have a ultrasound of my thyroid and an uptake.

I was first diagnosed with Hashimoto’s and had hypo thyroid. Within a year I was diagnosed with Graves and got hyper thyroid. I was on And anti-thyroid medication for 18 months and did it correct itself. I went in to my endocrinologist every three months for bloodwork as he said that most commonly re-lapses happen within two years. Three years later my graves went active again. And I’m back on Methimazole 5ml 1x day. I have also made dietary changes to help with side effects and find being gluten free has been a game changer. I had terrible brain fog, fatigue, joint muscle pain. My symptoms are 90% better with diet change. I recently went on vacation and for two months after fried sugar and all things gluten back into my diet. In those terrible symptoms all came back.

An antigen test would tell much more yet they don’t do them unless you ask and the test can change everything
