Hyoid Suspension Procedure to Help With Sleep Apnea

Posted by soli @soli, 2 days ago

I was diagnosed with mild positional sleep apnea when I sleep on my back. I could not get used to or tolerate both CPAP machine and mouth guards like SnoreX. So I try to sleep on my side using Zoma and other straps, but I still suffer from poor sleep quality (it is not very refreshing whether I sleep 6 hoour or 8). Endoscopy showed the anatomic basis of the obstruction is at the level of the epiglotis. A sleep doctor suggested that, given the basis of the obstruction, a hyoid suspenstion procedure can help. Has anyone undergone this procedure? If so how successful was it? Any side effects?
