Hydronephrosis: Might there be an underlying issue?
Recently, I have been diagnosed with having hydronephrosis on my right kidney and my urine analysis showed presence of high blood level. I was then put on a antibiotic regime for a week.
My urine is now clear with no infection result.
However, despite having no blood or infection traces in my urine test I am not still yet comfortable with any underlying problem or potential kidney issue.
I am currently living abroad but plan to return to the US during the holidays and see my urologist about my concerns.
Meanwhile, I will appreciate receiving advice and suggestions.
Thank you

I have had 2 CT scans with contrast in past 4 months and they are not seeing where any obstruction is. Also had 2 renal scans with Lasix and nothing shows on that either. I am in terrible pain. Nothing seems to help and have tried all things mentioned.
@kelly223 Gosh, it all sounds so uncomfortable. I am not a doctor, and don't even "play one on TV".
If I was in your shoes, I would start by writing down when this flank pain started, and the symptoms you are experiencing [time/activity/intensity]. Have they checked for a kidney infection or kidney stones? I had one several years back, that a substitute dr had pooh-poohed, telling me my flank pain "couldn't be your kidneys, they don't hurt"! They did a urine culture and found the bacteria count very high. A home remedy my father [who was subject to kidney stones] and I have done, is cranberry juice cut with water, to help change the pH.
Good for you for not giving up. I would really like you to know I am here for you, and want to help you through this!
