How to change urologist? I am moving 6 hrs from my urologist. He is good and I like him. Should I ask him for advise or recommendations? What about all my records? I’m currently on AS and I think I may want radiation at my new location. My Gleason score is 4+3, one lesion only, .34 decipher score on biopsy Please advise thanks!!

With a 4+3 you really you should not be on active surveillance much longer. If you’re not having surgery, then you may not need to be in contact with a urologist you need a radiation oncologist..

You don’t mention where you live. I’ve got a list of a lot of different doctors and hospitals. Where is your new location?.

Your urologist may be able to help, it depends on whether or not they know doctors in your new location.

Your agent is a factor and what the best treatment is. How old are you?

Since you had a prostatectomy, the only reason you would want to do radiation is if your PSA is starting to rise.

You have not included any information about what your PSA is. You don’t have a very aggressive case with what you describe, you really don’t want to do radiation until you need to, and that Time may never come..

Here’s a location You may find a good group of doctors.

Holden
Comprehensive
Cancer Center
University of Iowa
Iowa City, Iowa
Comprehensive
Cancer Center

There are some really great doctors in Chicago, but that is a long trip for you.

@jeffmarc a simple robotic assisted prostectomy is only removing tissue around the urethra to correct urine retention which worked great no cancer in the 101 grams he removed ! So still producing PSA PSA is 25 but stays steady PSMA clear But I still think I will request treatment when I get to Iowa in August

Thinking about Unity Health, Jon Stoddard cancer center. Hear of them ?

A prostatectomy is usually when you have your prostate removed, I understand what you mean however, a friend of mine just had the same type of surgery a few weeks ago. They will check the tissue they took out for prostate cancer, but he doesn’t have a rising PSA.

I do know somebody that had a PSA of 50 But never had prostate cancer. He just had a huge prostate..
