How much do sinus issues complicate your lung issues?
I have constant sinus drainage issues that seem to be making my airway clearance more difficult and less effective. Short of being on antibiotics I have not been able to resolve this issue. Anyone have similar experience?

Interesting! How is this different than NeilMed saline packets?
@scoop If you purchase full stream, then the pressure is stronger as the saline moves through your nasal passages.
I find the pressure is stronger than the hand held squeezable option or neti pot. It’s especially helpful if you have a flare up.
Neils Sinus rinse has become my daily routine to combat sinus infections. I pour distilled water into the plastic bottle warm it in my microwave for 30 seconds then empty the Neils packets into the bottle, shaking it then using it in each nostril. Neils Sinus Rinse comes with directions. It says to disinfect the bottle place it in the microwace for one minute. So far so good. Longer will melt the bottle I learned.
My allergist also has me using Fluticasone nasal spray daily to keep my sinuses from swelling and plugging.
It’s the Mayo in Rochester.
Note: I think the meds are very similar to Azelastine, Flonase and Ipratropium (in mix but available separately) if those are easier to obtain. I’d had such a good response to Azelastine that I waited several weeks to change. Once I did, I prefer this, esp with the supplemental Ipratropium. No terrible taste. 😀
The straight Neil Med bottle can’t be boiled 10 minutes. I called and they said 5” max. They have started making a Squeezie nasal rinse bottle that can be boiled and I switched to it. I do prefer the original because it’s simpler confirm the volume to add the med to (the design makes it have air bubbles), but being able to clean is more important. If you’re just adding saline, that won’t be issue and some prefer the Squeezie. .
I found the squeezie at CVS once, but usually get from Amazon.
Be sure to say KAAA as you initiate rinse to keep fluid from ears.
Thank you.
The sinus issue definitely adds to the volume of mucus coming from my chest and also adds to the breathing difficulty and fatigue.
Inmy. I am interested in the salt water you buy for irrigation- this would be good to try for my husband- so what is exactly you buy, where and what it looks like. Thank you
Pacathy- how do you know which squeeze bottle can be boiled. I looked and the all look the same.
I've put both NeilMed squeeze bottles and NeilMed NäsaKleen Squeezie Nasal Rinsing System into the baby bottler sterilizer with no ills effects.
