I am 5 weeks post surgery and can now walk without a walker, rollator or cane. The pain is relatively minor. The most pain is bending the knee to or past 120 ROM.
I am 9 days from my 1 year. My first several months were brutal.
I am waiting for this recovery to be done. I am tired of the tightness and stiffness. Mornings are getting better, but by end of the day (I work 12 hours a day, 5 days a week) come home and cook dinner, by this time of day my knee is stiif and tight. This is been a struggle for me.
Lots of prayers 🙏 everyday. God is always good.
I counted my 1 year a year after my MUA- Manipulation under anesthesia.
Although I thought I was the ideal candidate for a total knee replacement- I developed scar tissue and had pretty bad results at my 6 week post-op check up. I am so glad I had the MUA (as a result of a 2nd opinion Dr.).
Just returned from a huge trip across Canada and America and did some very aggressive uphill mountain hikes. My knee worked wonderfully. Finally feel like it has earned its keep and work.
But- the left knee is starting to act up bad. The x-ray showed major deterioration in just over a year. Maybe too much hiking?
Searching and reading about Nano and Jiffy, I just can't go through all of that again.
I am at 10 months since TKR and everything is not perfect, but it is so much better than before surgery. I was recently having some pain, but purchased different shoes and pain is gone. I’m so glad I had the TKR it has really improved my quality of life.
My replacement is a year ago now, still tightness at the inner side of the knee and can’t kneel anymore, the pressure hurts.
At least for the most of the time it’s much better than it was.
My right knee replacement felt wonderful. No issues whatsoever and still feels great 4 years later. My left knee was done two years ago and I had a totally different experience due to the peroneal nerve being compressed during surgery which caused drop foot. This caused me not to be able to do PT as thoroughly as I did with my right knee as I tripped and my balance was very unsteady. Too long a story to go into regarding all the problems I experienced as a result of the drop foot, but my left knee doesn't have the awful pain I was in prior to the surgery, but it does have a tightness I don't experience with the right one and if I stand too long it will ache & swell in the knee/lower part of that leg.

@rainyday541 I am at 8 1/2 months. Right knee. I have lots of stiffness in the morning. I put on voltaren gel so that I can move. At end of the day knee is stiff and sore.
I have a surgery date of 11-6 for a total right knee replacement. I had a partial left knee replacement 6 months ago. Thankfully recovery from the partial was successful; I am planning that my left knee with be my crutch when I try to walk after this operation. I feel like I know what happens after surgery but I also feel that a TKR will be more serious and painful. I am arranging for a home health aide to spend the first few nights with me. I am anxious about the surgery but my right knee got torn up when I was swimming about 3 weeks ago. I was kicking and my whole right knee was in pain. I thought I had torn a ligament but the MRI said no. I have been re-reading everyone's posts. Thank you.

I had left knee partial in 2021 and breezed through the recovery.
But my right knee was a full and it has been brutal from moment I woke up in recovery room. I will hit my 1 year on 11/6.
By the end of the day, my knee is stiff and hurts trying to bend. This affects my lower back as my gait changes.
Pray 🙏 everyday day. God is always good.
