I counted my 1 year a year after my MUA- Manipulation under anesthesia.
Although I thought I was the ideal candidate for a total knee replacement- I developed scar tissue and had pretty bad results at my 6 week post-op check up. I am so glad I had the MUA (as a result of a 2nd opinion Dr.).
Just returned from a huge trip across Canada and America and did some very aggressive uphill mountain hikes. My knee worked wonderfully. Finally feel like it has earned its keep and work.

But- the left knee is starting to act up bad. The x-ray showed major deterioration in just over a year. Maybe too much hiking?

Searching and reading about Nano and Jiffy, I just can't go through all of that again.

@cathymw Similar experience. And same thoughts about how to have my other knee done. Recovery was a very traumatic experience. MUA was helpful of course. Would go with a different approach but I fear that could be as traumatic as well? Am I just not the ideal candidate for TKR? Thankfully I am very active again. Hiking/walking miles, pilates, etc... Would love a 135-140 bend again. I am told that is extremely unrealistic. One can hope...

@cathymw Totally agree on not ever going through all of that ever again! My left knee is bone on bone, but after the TKR of the right knee, which still doesn’t feel great, I will never go through a surgery like that again!
