Advice for mirtazapine side effects

Posted by ringbuzz @ringbuzz, Mar 1, 2025

I have stopped taking my mirtazapine because I started having the restless, aching legs. I have been on the meds for about 4 years and off them for 3-4 months now. I have really bad tinnitus and the mirtazapine helped with falling asleep, now that is a new issue I am struggling with. Any advice??

I made a comment a while back about Mirtazapine, I took them for a couple of months and weaned myself off them. In my experience it was the nastiest medication I’ve ever taken, too many side effects like leg and arm cramps, nightmares if and when I could get some sleep, I read a number of good reviews from people who liked this drug, I realize it’s an individual thing. Even had lingering symptoms after stopping them, they made the tinnitus I suffer from go off the charts. If they have helped you for some time but you’re experiencing changes then it’s time to talk to your doctor about trying something new, it’s always an ongoing process to find the right medicine for your health, good luck.

I’ve been on mirtazpine 15 for a year now. Never noticed any side effects. It helps with my appetite, helps with anxiety and sleep. I take one every night before bed

I have been taking mirtazapine for about 3-4 years. Initially to help with appetite and sleep problems, from anxiety. It has worked very well for both problems and helped the anxiety. I take 15mg tablet before bed and the only side effect I had for a few weeks when I started taking it, was feeling a bit out of it the next morning... other than that it was great! And that soon wore off.
