How about a laugh, (hopefully)

Posted by Leonard @jakedduck1, Dec 31, 2018

I believe laughter is the best medicine. Laughter has actually been scientifically proven to help people with depression issues.
Let’s give it a try so we can all get happy and feel better. Many Epilepsy forums I’ve been on had joke sections. I was probably the biggest joke of all since I didn’t get a lot of the jokes. They said the jokes couldn’t be above 4th grade level for me to understand them so my jokes may be rather simplistic but let’s give it a try.
Have a lovely day everyone,
Jake

I received this lovely poem in a birthday card, and wanted to share it.
ONCE UPON A TIME,
THERE WAS THIS PERSON
WHO CAME INTO THE WORLD
IN THE ORDINARY WAY.,
AND EVERY DAY THAT PERSON LEARNED
A LITT LE MORE
AND GREW
A LITTLE MORE
THAT PERSON HAD
TALENTS AND GIFTS
AND THOGHTS AND IDEAS
LIKE NOBODY ELSE.
THAT PERSON HAD
LOVE TO GIVE
AND HAPPINESS TO SHARE.
AND THAT PERSON MADE A DIFERENCE
IN OTHER PEOPLE'S LIVES
EVERY SINGLE DAY
SO, AS IT TURNS OUT,
THE DAY THAT PERSON
CAME INTO THE WORLD
WASN'T ORDINARY AT ALL.
IT WAS THE BEGINING
OF THE UNIQUE AND IMPORTANT LIFE
OF EXTRAORDINARY YOU

Kamama94,
Thanks for the multiple laughs today!

Where did you get the TSEliot joke?
A screeching howl!

I suspect that, if I had ever used it when I was teaching, it would have been the ONLY thing that my students remembered about Eliot! Hahaha
(OMG. Is that the only thing you remember from school about Eliot? That would be really, really funny! ESpecially since Eliot is such a downer...He can turn a peach into a problem...)

Lagrange, I beg to differ about Prufrock; he was way too gloomy to make a joke. I think he must have had IBS, since he was afraid to eat a peach. Must have made him irritable.

Have a great day, everybody, and thanks for the laughs!

Anne, you're actually right about the personality of our friend Prufrock, including his fear of eating a peach. My high school English teacher, Mrs. Page, would really have liked you for that insight.

Kamana, you deserve kudos for that T. S. Eliot joke. I've gotten a lot of mileage out it. You wouldn't believe some of the replies I've received, including lots of toilet related references. When I was in school, students had a field day with those initials.

Isn't it just great to laugh!
