AZ Housing for a place to rent for a couple of months having surgery.

Posted by rwilliams1152 @rwilliams1152, Feb 26 3:04pm

I am here this week at the Mayo Clinic Arizona. I am looking for housing rentals. As I am going to be having a liver transplant and will be here for a few months. Any idea's?

Thanks
Rick

Have you asked anyone on transplant team about recommendation? Is there a social worker on your care team? If so, they may have recommendations from previous transplant patients.

Hey Rick,

Couple of suggestions for you. Colleen was correct, the Mayo support group for the AZ Mayo liver transplant center is fantastic. If you’re there going through your evaluation they should be providing you the information on how to join. It is run by one of the social workers there and is hands down one of the best things you can do. If you haven’t received it , just ask them. We can probably answer most of the questions you have regarding anything transplant.

When I was there we started in a local hotel but I wound up having to be there longer than expected so we rented a fully furnished condo just down the street from the hospital. Toscana at Desert Ridge has a block of condos that you can rent, and they’ve had many Mayo patients there. They are reasonably priced and it’s a fantastic place to rehab after transplant. There are other options around but we loved Toscana.

Hopefully we see you on the support group, I’ll keep an eye out for you. 👊
