High Blood Pressure

Posted by skipoy @skipoy, Feb 8 12:13pm

66 year old female, endocarditis and mitro valve repair 15 yrs. ago, Sick sinus syndrome, pacemaker, 1 TIa. On Losartan 50 mg. Metoprolol 50 mg. Hydrochlorothiazide 2.5 mg. Amlodipine 2.5. Xeralto 20 mg. I keep having spiking bp episodes that last several days causing headaches and general illness. Wondering if there’s something else wrong w/body. Walk every day, no alcohol, watch salt. Not overweight. Frustrating. Any one have successful remedies w/out increasing meds?

Hi @skipoy Sorry to hear about your blood pressure spikes. I know how it feels…the headaches, fatigue, nausea feeling. I had a spike about four years ago…no explanation was ever found. I was given medication to take if my blood pressure went over 155/90 if remember right. My bp went up to 170/110…I was then given metoprolol and suddenly it went away and never had a spike again. The other stuff I had…well 🙂

My point is no explanation but it went away. All I can offer is a sympathetic ear. I am wishing you good health and a recovery from this.

This may or may not help but make sure you are hydrated.

Agree. Hydration is more important that we know.
