I have had tremendous success with R-Alpha Lipoic Acid, especially for the leg cramps, but it has also decreased, though not removed, the burning of my feet at night. I suffered for years before I found this sight last November and followed advice from fellow travelers. I get it on Amazon. The brand I take is lipoFusion, though I'm sure there are others that work just as well. I take 600 mg each day (at or before lunch).
I really hope the answer for you is this simple. I understand what you are dealing with!

My feet and lower legs are somewhat numb, and I do have to turn over quite frequently at night because it's uncomfy lying on my side.
However, I seem to have got rid of the cramps which were waking me every night, by drinking a 6oz glass of tonic water before bed. The quinine in the tonic is the active ingredient. Other members have also found this helpful.
I also do 20 toe stands and some squats and stretches before bed, not sure if it really adds anything but once one arrives at a routine that seems to work, one does not want to start messing with it!

My pain neuropathic pain from a stroke.. called thalamic pain syndrome. Neurologists and pain management specialists have run out of ideas… nothing has been effective at all. Now my physiatrist ( pain management) is suggesting ketamine infusions. Two of my other drs are not in favor of them, nor am I
The one part of my body that functions well is my brain and I don’t want to jeopardize my cognitive functioning. Any thoughts?
