Help on my left knee replacement and future right knee
I had my left knee done on 2/18/26. And my right knee was scheduled for 8weeks later. However after my 4 week checkup yesterday, it's now pushed out to 12 weeks.
I am doing my inpatient PT at home three times a day, and my outpatient is in my third week, two days a week.
My left knee is very sore, and very tight everyday. I'm wondering when I'll see some improvement.
Any comments are appreciated, thanks!!!

My opinion, give your left knee time to heal properly. I would wait at least a year.
I had left knee partial in 2021, and had a great recovery. I waited three more years for my right knee. This recovery was down right brutal and difficult for me. But I only had to concentrate one one knee recovery at a time.
Good luck 👍

1 ReactionI had 5 knee surgeries before the first replacement so I knew what to expect for bending and extending. Don’t baby the knee because you think something will happen. They are in there really well. I’ve had both knees replaced. The first 3 weeks are tough. You wonder why you did it. I know it looks bad, but don’t baby it, it’s not coming apart. Extend and bend you want your range of motion back. Do all the PT they suggest when they recommend it.
The bike is important. Make sure you elevate and ice!!! Also after 3 weeks or so cut back/end pain relievers they won’t help. They seem to make it worse.

Thanks for your response!

I whole-heartedly second your opinion! TKR is just too tough and takes way too long to recover from. To try to do both knees in the same year is crazy. Whatever surgeon suggested that is crazy, and has obviously never tried to recover from one, let alone two. I hope dinos100 finds another surgeon who has some common sense.
