Help needed with 6k mg Gabapentin dosage climbing
UCSF patient 2025 with a spinal Lami that caused permanent damage to the sympathetic nerve from the spinal cord in the T5 to T6 right arm, neck and shoulder blade. I have a Abbott spinal stimulator and I'm on heavy high doses of Muscle Relaxers and Nerve Medication far above the recommended limits and prescribed only by a hospital. My tollerance is climbing after 3 years. Looking for a way to live longer. Once my tollerance reaches a very high level it can be fatal in my condition. Any help? My dosage is climbing as the more I take the less the body can absorb that's confirmed by my pain management. I'm on 6,000 mg of Gabapentin, 30 mg of Baclofen, 8 mg of Tizanadine along with everything else I can mix. I have tried almost every prescription medication on the market except the new drug that will be a new option for Gabapentin that just finished clinical trials and shows promise. Could be approved in a few years. Looking for a way to stay alive?

I think you’re incorrect when you say you are taking 6,000 mg of Gabapentin. That number can’t be correct. That is hundreds of times stronger than any doctor would prescribe. Please check your bottle of pills and review the prescription with your pharmacy.

1 ReactionHi, thanks for your response. I had a stimulus put in in 2013 and a new one in 2022. Does not help my feet and bottom calves which feel like they are over a fire pit all night.

I'm on PreGabalin for neuropathic issues. Since meds that affect the nervous system [GabaPentin, PreGabalin, Metaxalone] don't do anything for my current pain my logic circuits lead me to believe that it's not nerve related. The spine person I saw at Mayo didn't suggest it.
