Help needed with 6k mg Gabapentin dosage climbing

Posted by marcusc @marcusc, 5 days ago

UCSF patient 2025 with a spinal Lami that caused permanent damage to the sympathetic nerve from the spinal cord in the T5 to T6 right arm, neck and shoulder blade. I have a Abbott spinal stimulator and I'm on heavy high doses of Muscle Relaxers and Nerve Medication far above the recommended limits and prescribed only by a hospital. My tollerance is climbing after 3 years. Looking for a way to live longer. Once my tollerance reaches a very high level it can be fatal in my condition. Any help? My dosage is climbing as the more I take the less the body can absorb that's confirmed by my pain management. I'm on 6,000 mg of Gabapentin, 30 mg of Baclofen, 8 mg of Tizanadine along with everything else I can mix. I have tried almost every prescription medication on the market except the new drug that will be a new option for Gabapentin that just finished clinical trials and shows promise. Could be approved in a few years. Looking for a way to stay alive?

Whoa! 6000 mg of Gabapentin?! That sounds higher than anyone I've ever seen on this site. I take 600 mg three times a day. Are you sure you've been cleared to take this much?

How can you tolerate Baclofen along with GabaPentin and Tizanadine? I would think that might turn you into a sleeping zombie?

Exactly, I'm taking 3600mg a day, and my doctor says that's the highest dosage he'll prescribe.

All I can say is that Thank God that GabaPentin is relatively cheap.

Yeah!! That sounds pretty high!! I think there’s something wrong with the translation!
I take 600 mg three times a day also. That seems to be pretty standard.
I think 6,000 mg is an error.

I'm on 600mg of Canal ent in 4x a day along with 10mg OxyCodone and my doctor says that's the limit. There must be a better drug than Gabapentin. My only relief is two hours from my two meds. I hardly ever sleep.

P.s. was Gabapentin (auto correct)

I have seen people suggesting Pregablin as an alternative to Gabapentin.
Have you ever been a candidate for a spinal cord stimulator or a pain pump?
