Heart valve regurgitation, is this serious or I can live with it.

I was diagnosed with heart valve regurgitation, I’m now on 40 mg benazaphril before bed and 25 mg metoprolol in the morning, now my bp is around 137 from 158. Do I need to increase dosage to get to 120?

@ruben1349 Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect, a forum where you can meet others with similar health issues. It is not a place to get professional medical advice.

You are here in the HCM discussion, so I am assuming that your heart valve regurgitation is involved with that terrible disease. I remember that my regurgitation was noted during echocardiograms.

Only your doctor can (and should) answer your question. We share experiences in our discussion group, I have no experience exactly like yours, each of us is unique in every way, others may share similar, not identical, experiences. I do remember that my cardiologist wanted me on a BP medication (in my case Verapamil) so that my "heart would not work so hard."

It's scary to learn that we have a medical condition and that there is no magic pill to cure it. So many of us are living with controlled medical conditions and leading our best lives. This is our ever-important-essential heart here!
