You can start by getting an appointment with a cardiologist. Get a blood pressure monitor and start keeping a record of your bp readings. I do mine at about 6 am every day and as often as I think I need to record it. Every two weeks, I send in my blood pressure chart to my doctors office. Most monitors will also give you your heart rate. I also include a blood sugar reading along with my blood pressure and pulse. If your heart rate goes above 120 beats per minute, go to the ER. Please, do not play guessing games with your heart.
