Has anyone used GLP-1 therapy with EPI?
My daughter still suffers from the effects of Long Covid. She was recently put on GLP-1 therapy to deal with the symptoms. She tells me the overall health effect is amazing, and recommended a book she read in support of the therapy. (I don’t know if I can mention the book title). She told me the book reminded her of my symptoms. I read it, and it seems spot on. I have absolutely no reason to explain why I have EPI. Not even a hint of the traditional underlying causes. I am wondering if the GLP-1 will help me. I am so excited to talk to my doctor about it when I go this coming week. Has anyone out there tried GLP-1 therapy, with an EPI diagnosis?

I'll be on the lookout for any information you receive on GLP-1 therapy, as I also have EPI.

1 ReactionWhich one did she use ?
@fred41 I saw my gastroenterologist this past Wednesday. I asked her about it, and she was enthusiastic. I am technically about 30 pounds overweight, have a slightly enlarged liver, and my blood pressure has gone from a steady 111/77 my entire life, to 144/88. We believe the GLP-1 may solve all these problems; reduce my weight, reduce my blood pressure, and eliminate the enlarged liver. In addition, a common side effect of a GLP-1, is constipation, which is a good thing for me! She prescribed the lowest dose of Zepbound. My insurance will not pay for it, so I am jumping through some hoops. I will keep you posted.

1 ReactionHi Fred, I have been on ZepBound 2.5mg for two weeks now. I had immediate, positive, results. In addition to possible help with EPI, I am taking it for a slight weight problem, a slightly enlarged liver, and slowly rising blood pressure. I have already lost 10 of the 30 pounds I want to lose. I don’t know about the blood pressure or the liver yet. But, the most important thing is, I have not had a single bout of diarrhea since the day I started taking the ZepBound. It is a miracle! Even on the ZenPep, I had between one and three bouts every day. I had not had a solid bowel movement since 2017! If the ZepBound does nothing else, it is worth it for me. I read an article the other day about the regenerative effects of long term use of a GLP-1 on the pancreas. I tried to attach the article to this, but it would not let me. Look for: Prolonged GLP-1 Exposure Remodels Gene Expression in the Pancreas by Flipping a Molecular Switch, by Rebecca Robert’s, PHD. KEEP ME POSTED,

1 ReactionHi Fred, I have had similar experiences with GLP-1, mounjaro since March and I started ZenPep about 3 weeks ago and it has made a huge difference. I have solid bm's now and I am not hungry all the time. The Mounjaro was added because I had a total distal pancreatectomy about 1 yr ago and my insulin would not regulate, and was consistently over 220. Mounjaro has dropped my a1c from 8.6 to 5.4 in 5 months. I have also lost about 30 lbs, which helps with my joint issues as well.
Congratulations! That is amazing!
Also, take a look at that article. GLP-1is apparently a miracle drug. 🙏🏻
