Has anyone tried creatine powder?

Here's the article:

I think I'm going to start this: 4g of powder mixed w/ juice (not water) taken daily...

Yes, been taking 5g daily in my coffee, even pre-Covid. In my case, I suspect taking it anytime post-midafternoon aggravates my insomnia (so much worse after Covid). But my ability to power through the day seems better because of the creatine.
Actually thinking of reducing the dose to see whether the insomnia-induced fatigue improves. (I am useless after 6 pm!)

Yes. It caused bloating, so I stopped. I am going to try again because I was told to drink a lot of water.

Just started this week. 5g in my coffee or in a protein smoothie. Increasing protein as well with high protein Ensure once a day. 19 months w/LC. I routinely drink water all day long, so not too worried about staying hydrated. I’m better than a year ago, but feel like recovery has hit a plateau. Fatigue and brain fog still top issues and I’m extremely cautious as to what I do during the day, so as not to overdo. Hoping these additions make “some” difference 🤞🏼

It's made a big difference for me. I started it at the end of May this year and it gradually increase my strength at least for walking. I take it in the morning 2.5 g and I've been able to increase my step count walking up and down small hills in the morning. But I still need to lay down for a couple hours in the afternoon and I go to bed early. It's not a cure but it's certainly increased what I've been able to do over the last 2+ years. You do have to stay hydrated and I too had to drink a lot of water even before this. I think this is something that should be explored by the medical community and refined to be a medication.. Like you I also take it with a protein drink with vitamins in the morning. Since sleeping is an issue I don't want to take it in the afternoon.

I am so glad to see this. I started taking 5g of creatine powder mixed in my morning protein drink about a month ago. I originally started taking it because I read an article about its use in senior citizens (I'm almost 70) to possibly help with slowing muscle loss and helping brain clarity. I've got acreage to take care of, so I don't have time for fatigue that I originally got from having covid in 2021. I just recently got over my third round of covid. I have found that once I get going with my work, I do ok. It is only when I stop that I feel worn out. I take a short break and then get back to work. I'm fine until I stop. It will be interesting to see how the creatine works.

Yes! I noticed immediate results in brain fog - increased clarity, thought processing and word finding…. noticeable within 1 week of taking it.

I began my first 10days with a “loading phase” of 20g (powder)** then tapered to the recommended 5g/1x daily.
Typical daily dose recommended is a small 5g scoop.
**I am a training athlete; the loading phase is recommended for people in this group/activity load. Read labels and understand what is recommended for your personal activity level and body type.

Important Note: Not all Creatine is created equal. Same goes for Collagen. Most people mistakenly assume that it’s all the same.

My advice: do your research and understand what the product contains, ingredients and their source. So important.

I’ve a background in health nutrition and supplementation and, in addition to being 3years in with my LC PASC recovery journey, I’m an athlete who has fought to maintain my fitness as a source of mental and physical and emotional health. Key to a higher quality of life and recovery.

Creatine has not, and, will by no means cure or resolve LC PASC chronic fog and/or symptoms. It’s merely helped me. Everyone is different and results may or may not be experienced.

The Product that I am using and which works for me:
Creatine (power; tub) by THORNE
$50-90 (two sizes available)

Yes, I haven't found specific info on how many ounces of fluid to drink, but it's very important to be fully hydrated when taking creatine.
