Has anyone taken the generic form of Xeljanz XR11 mg?
I was just informed by my pharmacy that I need to switch to the generic form of Xeljanz XR. Less than a week's notice to get connected with my busy rheumatologist and get a new script etc. I guess this version just came out, and my insurance requires generic if it is available. I have a good result with my current regimen and do not want anything to change. It saves about $11,000 per year, so I get the need.

Hello @lucyvt, If I'm not mistaken, the generic form of Xeljanz XR11 is tofacitinib extended-release tablets. I did a search of Connect using "tofacitinib" and found a few members who have posted about the drug if you want to scan through them while you wait for members to respond - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/search/comments/.
Thanks for this idea. I checked and most of those comments are for patients using it in an ointment form for derm conditions. The generic form of the oral medication supposedly just came out, and my insurance requires generic if available.
