Has anyone relocated for treatment while low income?
I am thinking about relocating for treatment because I experienced several uncomfortable situations including a life altering situation with the treatment center where I live within only the first month of receiving treatment there. I have a fear of returning to that treatment facility. Unfortunately, my financial situation is not good due to what happened has made working very difficult. And I will also be needing chemotherapy.
Does anyone have experience relocating to a well known cancer hospital? Especially for low income? Or even to another state for better options? I’m trying to figure out what I need to do. Would calling some of these places help?

You are definitely in a tough situation. You want to get the best treatment possible, but you also realize the potential cost of relocation and medical expenses. If you're considering switching states, research your insurance options, either private or medical assistance. Also, the cost of living at the new location. If you move to a larger city for more medical resources, it might also have a higher cost of living.
Like many decisions, need to consider pros and cons.
You might try googling "relocating for medical reasons" to get advice and suggestions.
Would you be willing to share your current location and the locations you are considering?

2 Reactionsmany of the treatment centers have low cost housing that you can ask them about. talk to the patient advocate or check with the American cancer society ( not sure of name) on the internet. they will set up subsidized housing near the facility you choose.
I went out of town for proton radiation because there is no facility near me and rented a VRBO. not cheap, but cheaper than hotels and more comfortable. I would suggest if you go that route, you find one close to the facility
best of luck.
Uber fares add up pretty fast. some facilities have drivers that will pick you up for your appointments. there are also volunteers that will take you to your appointments, but I found them to be few and far between.
