many of the treatment centers have low cost housing that you can ask them about. talk to the patient advocate or check with the American cancer society ( not sure of name) on the internet. they will set up subsidized housing near the facility you choose.
I went out of town for proton radiation because there is no facility near me and rented a VRBO. not cheap, but cheaper than hotels and more comfortable. I would suggest if you go that route, you find one close to the facility

Uber fares add up pretty fast. some facilities have drivers that will pick you up for your appointments. there are also volunteers that will take you to your appointments, but I found them to be few and far between.
