Has anyone had Daily Persistent Headache after covid?
My 16 year old son has had Daily Persistent Headache for over two years now along with low iron and pots. He has a headache everyday and reach migraine levels 2-4 times per week. After seeing several different doctors and trying just about every treatment possible we are no further along then we were two years ago. Just trying to find anything or anyone that might help. It has been a nightmare for me and my family.

HI..I have headaches also..I have had Covid 3 times, I am a long hauler, but I am much older, 72 years old and also deal with severe hypertension. The one thing that they did prescribe for me for headaches is Vitamin B-2 100 mg tablets, which is Riboflavin..the dosage for me is take 4 tablets daily with food. Another headache doctor who also works with long Covid patients suggested that I take 2 tablets twice a day. You may want to check with your physician. I think alot of my headaches are from my high blood pressure and last year I fainted in my driveway and had a head injury and concussion due to my blood pressure up and then dropping when I got out of my car and stood up, I fainted, due to orthostatic hypotension, at least that's what the doctor said during my hospital stay. You can get the B-2 at a health store that sells vitamins or my doctor sent a prescription to Costco pharmacy and they fill it for me, much lower cost doing it this way. Hope this info is helpful. We all need to stick together.
I also have daily persistent headaches and it is a nightmare. Not sure what your son has tried already, but I have found that a low dose of amitriptyline and 1.0 mg of guanfacine (taken before bedtime) help with frequency and severity of headaches. I am also trying cognitive behavioral therapy to manage secondary symptoms of depression and anxiety and help with pain management (for the headaches and my other symptoms). I really hope he finds something that will help.
I too have daily headaches ever since my Long Covid started almost four years ago. Taking low dose naltrexone (3mg/day) and Abilify (0.9 mg/day) have greatly reduced the headaches. They used to be so intense that I could not work on a computer (headaches plus photophobia), and now I can use a computer most of the day without getting worse.
Thank you for the information I really appreciate it.

I actually just recently heard about people having success with the use of nicotine patches. I don't know if anyone else has heard about this.
Search the discussions of this forum ... several on nicotine patches
