Has anyone had chronic itchiness of the scrotum that persists?

Posted by heisenberg34 @heisenberg34, Nov 16, 2023

I have had fairly severe itchiness of the scrotum for the past year or two. Tries OTC stuff, then went to dermatologist who prescribed tubes of topical cream (Ketoconazole). Washed, dried daily, applied med for over a month. No real help. Anyone out there experience a similar situation? Thanks

I have an itchy groin itch. My doctor said it was “probably “ fungus. And it had a horrible odor. I don’t walk around with this odor. Nobody including myself would get a wife of it.
I ended up at a dermatologist office and she said she would give me some cream to be applied at bedtime daily.
It disappeared and I no longer had any symptoms. A few weeks later it came back. So I called her and she had the prescription cream delivered to me from my pharmacy. (They deliver). It comes and goes. Seems like I need this cream around me to stop the itch.
It’s been 2 years and I’m still having to use the cream when needed. I’m clean and so is my clothes. Anyone know what I should do?

Go back to your Dermatologist and have her do scraping of the scrotal skin area and send to see if their is bacteria or fungus there and see if Pathologist finds any abnormality of the skin. Has she told you what her diagnosis is? i.e. fungus as in jock itch, bacteria, eczema, psoriasis? She must give you a name i.e. diagnosis. I think all men have itchiness of our areas. Do you sweat a lot?

Thanks for your reply. I actually have the itchiness under control by using an online product found on Amazon. It's a cream that you apply to the affected area twice a day for two weeks. I wasn't expecting much, but, wonder of wonders, it actually did away with all the itchiness that waa driving me crazy. I apply it once a day, three times a week as a prophylaxis. Don't know if it works for everyone but it sure worked for me!

Nathanddavid thanks for your reply. The dermatologist only said “it’s only an itch” and gave me the cream.
I never tried the scraping thing but I haven’t seen her in a while and I ran out of cream so I will make an appointment with her
I never sweat but it seems to be worse after a shower.

Excellent!! Thanks for sharing some good news with me this morning. I've had some bad news from a friend and praying for him presently. He believes in God so that helps. Nothing worse than itchy testicles Huh? I had to throw that in.

i get this year round. i sweat profusely. plus i wear a bladder leak pad. but strangely it's always the left testicle. just the underside. it's so irritating. shower, wash it in between showers. but still itches. no clue. i'll see my Urologist and ask about that scrapping. d

Please tell me the name of the product you are using. I’ve had itching problems for more than 20 yrs, and cannot find anything that helps. Please send info to my email address. 1151topper@ gmail.com
