Has anyone had botox for jaw and tongue tremors?
My neurologist mentioned it..I know it would only have a temporary effect but any respite would be a bonus.. still a bit scary to think of..parkinsons the gift that keeps giving..sadly..

Hi, @meg17 - I can see how any respite from tremors in your jaw and tongue tremors would be a bonus.
Here is some general info from Mayo Clinic about Botox injections:

Fellow members such as @hopeful33250 @purpleturtle @sally2026 @barbiedoll24 may personally or through a loved one have some familiarity with tongue and jaw tremors and/or the use of Botox for tremors in general.
How do the jaw and tongue tremors affect you day to day, meg17?

Tongue and jaw tremors can only be described as a mental torment..after more than 4 years of teeth chattering..tongue clicking and sounding like a demented dolphin..well that's the best analogy I can think of..it is wearying..just grateful my dentist is used to my symptoms..

2 ReactionsHello @meg17,
While I've not had tongue or jaw tremors, I have heard that many Parkinson's symptoms have been treated with Botox. Here are some discussions that discuss Botox treatment for PD symptoms:

--Cervical dystonia

Have any other medications or treatments been tried?

I am sorry to hear that the medication is not helping. That must be frustrating. Are you considering the Botox treatments?
