Has anyone been diagnosed with Middle Lobe Syndrome (collapse of lobe)

Has anyone ever been diagnosed with interval collapse of their right middle lobe? (Middle Lobe Syndrome) How did you "fix" it? Bronchoscopy or Lung Resection? Since having it show up on my last CT, I have had 8 rounds of antibiotics which is very unusual for me. Has anyone have it repair itself?

I've never heard of middle right syndrome . . . But my right middle lobe has collapsed three times. The only available treatment seems to be a bronchoscopy to open the right middle lobe bronchus. After my most recent procedure in 2023 my pulmonologist told me that I had "fish mouth" stenosis of the right middle lobe bronchus, probably congenital, and that if I had another collapse he would recommend surgery.
Two years later, so far, so good - I have bronchiectasis, MAC, SAI, and ABPA, and have been hospitalized three times with pneumonia in the last two years. I am currently on an antifungal to suppress my ABPA inflammation. I'm also on a biologic (Fascenra) and nebulizing 2x day levabuterol and 7% saline. The antifungal - itraconazole - has really made a huge difference this year.

My CT's consistently report "Left upper lobe completely collapsed/consolidated". My pulmonologist never really addressed that but I have an appointment with him on June 13 and will specifically ask him about it.

Hello , I have right middle lobe syndrome , MAC , Aspergillus and bronchiectasis. I see U of M in July for a second opinion on everything so I am curious what they recommend. There’s not been a lot of information or direction/ guidance with the RML from my pulmonologist, so I don’t have much to offer in advice . But I will post what U of M says

I had right middle lobe collapse. My pulmonologist raised it with a balloon during the bronchoscopy. I know sounds funny. But my oxygen level increased.
