@luluwa, Do you have a low Vitamin D level?
Good morning everybody I am happy to report I have a new endocrinologist and just with the first day of him adjusting my pump I have never seen these numbers in so long I am so ecstatic and happy that I'm on the road to having good numbers I have felt better in the last few days and I'm just happy and I thank all of you for your replies and suggestions and I'm just praying everybody on these groups get healed. But is really great to have a doctor that does not give up on you that encourages you. My doctor before actually said he didn't think he could do anything else and I'm like I know diabetes can be to some death sentence but not for me I am going to fight this to The Bitter End I am so ecstatic and I thank you all again and have a blessed day
@lovette That's great news, I am so happy for you. It's so important to have a great doctor. I like mine a lot, he's very highly thought of. I see him next week.
I'm just hoping that by adding the supplements I don't have the big fluctuations in my numbers. I haven't been able to exercise like I want to due to my sciatic nerve flaring. Trying to keep busy. I really want to get another 10 pounds off by Christmas. Just a crazy goal. I'm trying to work whole grains and beans into my program. Just don't want to overdue. Right now I'm battling olfactory hallucinations. My sense of smell is telling me that I'm smelling diesel fuel. It's been going on for about 2 1/2 weeks now. It is continuous and can get very strong smelling. The longest it's lasted is about 7 weeks. Very frustrating. I start sneezing and get nauseated. So, what do I do….I eat more because I can smell the food and taste it. Crazy but hard to control. Nothing I can do until in goes away. Some people smell lots worse stuff. Mine usually stays with diesel fuel or several different types of burning smells. I've walked the house many times thinking something is burning. Kind of freaks my husband out. Some day I'm going to tie a diesel fuel soaked handkerchief around his neck to give him an idea of what it's like. I bet he wouldn't last an hour. Sorry to complain.
I had olfactory hallucinations for years, smelling campfires. I have now lost my sense f smell entirely. Bummer..
Some research shows a link between loss of smell or loss of taste and future dementia such as Alzheimers. Also hoarders can be on their way to dementia because it is a mental disorder usually caused by traumatic distress in their lives. My late husband couldn't smell sour food so I had to be careful with freshness of cottage cheese which he covered with loads of French dressing. If I told him it was not fresh he would eat the bad food just to try to prove me wrong. He was able to smell the broken gas line in the yard, however. I think he had hallucinations as well and then was normal at other times. He never was diagnosed because he also slipped through our fingers on his health problems, living in denial until he was paralyzed. He lied about everything to the week before he died, then was unconscious for a week. I hope I am not upsetting anyone, but our long lives depend upon living in reality. There is help out there for everyone. Dorisena
