Gratitude Discussion Group
Hi everyone! Just before Thanksgiving @michellegraffradford posted a blog called Gratitude Changes Everything. She suggested three techniques to help incorporate gratitude into our daily lives:
- Start the Day with Gratitude (before getting up think of three people you are grateful for)
- Maintain a Gratitude Journal to record times when you are grateful
- Count Blessings – not sheep! (Review the day and remember moments of gratitude)
Her blogpost was so inspiring that a lot of us decided we wanted to form a Gratitude Group to keep the attitude of gratitude going. The blogpost area is not an ideal space for a big discussion group so I am moving the discussion over here to the “Just Want to Talk” Group. Let’s use this space to share and discuss our Gratitude Journey. I’m going to suggest that we each try to take a minute from the day and post here what has made us feel thankful today. It can be as small as a stranger’s smile on the bus or as large as fulfilling a major life dream – or anywhere in between. We can also discuss how we are doing with the three techniques. Sometimes it is easier to form new habits with support from others.
Michelle's full blogpost is at the link below. You may want to review it or print it out to help get started!

I look forward to hearing from others in the Gratitude Group and to having others join us here! Thanks to those who already shared great stories. If you haven't yet, what gratitude will you share today?!

@lioness I do know our mail has been running late-as late as 8 pm. They have a separate entrance here that is secure.
@parus We found out the problem here new person on route being trained , an the last couple of days we didn't get any mail but we do now after calling Washington USPS , our Mayor, representative . It was this post office decided not to come here on there own. You don't want to mess with seniors, we got them straightend out
Grateful to have an ample supply of arts/crafts supplies. Now isolating is ligitimate.
My husband ventured out to the grocery yesterday morning. It's been over a week since last time, and he got almost everything on the list. Today I have some fresh fruit and veggies!
@rosemarya Good for you! I did instacart yesterday using three different stores, and still don't have everything on my list. I think I will need to place an order with Whole Foods.
My husband does not venture out due to his age and he's afraid of bringing anything back to me. So, we will rely on delivery for now. We have many offers from relatives but they are a bit distant so I would not take advantage of them, and some very kind neighbors have offered but they have enough going on that I don't want to burden them further.
When we unpacked the items from Instacart we wiped each one down with a disinfecting cleaner. This is getting very wearisome.

@contentandwell
Indeed, it's becoming wearisome. But my wife and I happen to like staying home. The one thing we actually miss is church. I've never in my 69 years skipped church this many Sundays.
Jim
We're getting more knitting time in than usual. Right now I'm making blankets to go on the doll bunk beds I made for my 3 year old granddaughter, and looking at patterns at Ravelry.com and in my wife's large collection of knitting books and magazines to decide how I want to knit my next scarf and sweater.
Jim
@jimhd That's a great way to spend time while we're isolated! I have lots of yarn here and I'm not too far from you. We may end up having to go up towards Eugene next week, but not sure yet. I do not knit but I do crochet.
Ginger
