@peggymargaret

I was recently diagnosed with Rem Sleep Disorder. My disorder is different from all the articles I researched and I wanted to see if anyone else is like me. I have terrible vivid hallucinations of zombies, people leaning over me with knives, skeleton heads six inches in front of me, etc. I scream and try to push them away. These hallucinations happen when I wake and open my eyes. I'll see my husband laying there and a man leaning over him. Once I open my eyes I know exactly where I am and often get up. This is different in that articles say people are asleep and act out during sleep and don't remember. Does this sound like anybody? Thanks.

I do not have the violent dreams but I do wake myself talking and moving- and always remember what was happening. It is as if I was barely asleep.

I have not had the chance to be diagnosed. I am relatively young and scared by the association between RBD and serious conditions.

I have been diagnosed at the age of 76 but the possibility of Parkinson’s or Lewy Body is very concerning
I have been taking Melatonin with some success
