Good news! Seizure free for six months now

Posted by frankv @frankv, 1 day ago

Just want to share some encouraging news with the group. I was hospitalized in late June for four days with a significant seizure episode. I'm happy to report that I have been seizure free for six months now. I'm very grateful for my neurologist and the meds she has prescribed: lacosamide, 100 mg twice a day, and gabapentin, 300 mg three times a day. We don't know the root cause, and a recurrence is always possible, but so far so good.

Hi @frankv
Thank you so much for sharing that experience with us. It gives so many who haven't yet controlled their seizures the hope and resilience to keep going on this journey.
I'm so happy to hear about your progress, and I'm crossing my fingers that you continue to be seizure-free.
May your year be blessed with lots of good things!
Chris

@frankv, I just watched the latest podcast from "Seizing Life" with Dr. Elinor Ben-Menachem, an epileptologist who specializes in refractory epilepsy, and it reminded me of our discussion.
