Thanks for your quick reply.
I had stage II bladder cancer. Cystoscopy surgery to remove tumor, then Cisplatin treatment. CT scan still showed something, so another cystoscopy surgery to get biopsy and determine cancer free. Am looking for less invasive means of routine testing to detect possible recurrence. How often should this test be done?
I had the test about 2 months ago. Simple blood draw. I have difficult to diagnose symptoms and read about it in AARP. Since then, I have seen it other places. I took it based on the cleveland clinic article. I suggest that you read about it on the Grail website. What I like about it is that in a study they found it had some accuracy for cancers that normally do not have any routine screening test available such as ovarian cancer and pancreatic cancer. Plus I had a positive on the cologard test and a follow up colonoscopy. But that the colonoscopy did not cover small bowel cancer. What I do not like about it is that it was $945 out of pocket. I do believe it is the screening of the future. They just need to make it covered by medicare and other health plans.
Are there any statistic on the possibility of false negative results. I tested positive with a urine FISH test. Trying to determine if it is a false positive. Still looking for the best, accurate non-invasive test to avoid unnecessary surgery to do biopsy.
Hello @donsunlover. You ask a great question and one that I hope this article can provide some more answers to.
