Flutters after recent 4 wire pacemaker surgery

After my 3rd Covid jab I had pneumonia which disrupted the nerve signals to my heart. After several procedures I ended up with a heart monitor by my bed and a 2wire pacemaker.After nearly 4yrs this was changed to a 4wire. At night I am getting internal flutters that can hurt.
Is this normal or will they subside in time? My next check up is in
5/6 months time any advice would be great fully appreciated. Sorry about the vague discriptions that’s all I know.

When do you have your 4 wire surgery done? If within last year you could be getting some nerves damage from the surgery and your body reacting to a foreign device in your body. I learned this from my (EP) electrophysiologist who explained what I was feeling.

My EP stated it takes about a year for the body to encapsulate your device and wires. Until then you are dealing with foreign body and skin, muscles will react to it and like any surgery you will most likely get on an off pain (per my EP).

My EP was right. It did take about a year for both my mental health and physical health to accept the ICD/Pacemaker. Do you notice any feeling of more flutters when sleeping? My PCP (primary care provider) stated that when you lay down on sides and back your organs mover around and you will feel your device and any PACs, PVCs, flutters more than we erect.

I just had an ablation. What I learned about the wires and anything done to your heart like wires inserted the heart after surgery if very irritated from the surgery and will take some times to settle down and you will get flutters. PVCs, etc. as heart is still very aggravated from the surgery.

That could be your case as I was feeling same and my EP told me this. But don't rely on my experience talk to your doctors about your specific symptoms so they can give you professional medical expert advise. I am passing on I felt the same feelings you did and was told what I (not you) was feeling was a very irritated heart that would take 6-8 weeks to calm down.

Thanks for your advice . My 4wire operation was on 6th may so I didn’t give the operation time.to heal I’ll be going for another check soon. I will bring up
Some of the points you raised. The good news is my flutters have reduced a lot in the last couple of weeks which is great. I have also realised the flutters I get are reliant on position of my arms to my chest. If l lie on my back no flutters at all.
