Flare up

Posted by lilianna @lilianna, May 29 8:06am

I am having a bad flare up, probably pseudomonas showing it’s vicious side. Last Thursday, before the holiday I had mild sinus infection and I triples nebulizing and aerobika plus vest and it got worse. Cough fever. The pulmonologist on call at my pulmonologist hospital prescribed X-ray, sputum culture Tuesday morning and start same day Levaquin ( like cipro)which I did. And stop for the 10 days azithro. The cough is nonstop, bad, fever gone and I am exhausted and weak. I nebulize 7# sodium chloride four times a day together with aeroclipse and aerobica and vest. Today will take again levalquin. My question is when do you notice change and less cough?I am so weak - if you have any experience with levaquin please let me know. Thank you so much

After I was Treated MAI with big3 and arikyce for a year, I was better. But the CT scan 5 months ago showed that my right lung infection seemed to be getting worse. Later I had more dry cough and was tired. I thought it was caused by allergies to antibiotics. I may get better after antibiotic treatment is completed. A month ago CT showed no big changes. It seems that the inflammation in the right lung has improved .
Because of that I’m still having dry cough and occasionally small spots of blood in my sputum, my pulmonologist ordered Bronchoscope. Right after I had the procedure done I started Frequent productive cough, feeling very tired, and muscle pain all over the body, night sweats. During the procedure some drainage were collected for lab work and reported found Aspergillus.
At the same time, a full-mouth yeast infection was discovered in my mouth.
My pulmonary doctor started to treat my thrushes first. Today is the 4th day of Nystatin treatment,my mouth looks normal now but I will finish the 7days treatment,My dry cough is much better but still have night sweat.I will start Voriconazole for the Aspergilus infection. Hope I can tolerate the treatment.
Hope anybody got this infection would get prompt diagnosis and treatment.
Good luck everybody!

Hello luang. Stay strong with you treatment although it’s easier to say it than do it. Probably we all have been there and know how weak you are, and cough and thrush and worry. I am sending you words of encouragement. Let us know how you are
