Hey there! Fatty liver can progress to cirrhosis in some cases, but with early detection and healthy habits, it's often preventable.

Lose the booze and fatty fried foods. Exercise daily.

I was told I had a fatty liver for years. Struggled to lose weight no matter what I tried. Unfortunately I had a genetic liver disease all that time that went ignored. Now I need a liver transplant. Don’t just take “fatty liver” as a non issue.

No!!!!! I had fatty liver disease from taking Tylenol everyday for 6 months. After stopping them my dr retested me after two months and my levels were normal!!!!

It doesn’t always turn into Cirrhosis . I’ve had fatty liver 15 years now . I’m 40 lbs overweight and started getting one as weight went on slowly in my 40’s & 50’s . I’m 62 now .
Most people over 50 have a mild fatty liver . I eat very healthy too .
Google it , lots of info on it .

Thank you for comment..I was told I was a good candidate for the new drug. But it costs 4500 a month and you have to take it 52weeks...why would it be so expensive..I cannot pay that

In some cases but I have a fatty liver and never drank a drop in my life and weighing 135lb. I suspicion medications. They never tell us the truth about meds we take. I get insulted with any attempt to blame it on alcohol when it could not be.

I never drank or did street drugs and not that overweight and I have fatty liver...they do have a new drug to treat fatty liver but it is 4500 a month and I cannot afford that.

That’s crazy! Wow. So expensive. You can talk to your Dr about things you can do yourself. A lot of fatty liver disease does not turn into cirrhosis of the liver Especially if you’re not a heavy drinker My pcp told me this. Ofcourse your dr knows you and your history best! Good luck to you. 😊😊😊😊

Be sure you are checked for diabetes as that is a common cause of fatty liver. I had fatty liver and diabetes and with weight loss my diabetes and fatty liver disappeared.
