Anyone taken Evenity (romosozumab) for Osteoporosis?

Has anyone taken Evenity? I understand it’s only been on the market for a little over a year. I’m hoping it will help with my severe osteoporosis. Any information is helpful.

I have my first Prolia shot tomorrow. I have had to take risks due to I needed to get my bones better so that I could get surgery on my back. I really have wanted my life back after my injury two years ago. It's not just a back ache. It has been a whole change of my life. My surgery has been scheduled for late October and I am so happy and feel so blessed.

Just started evenity and my endocrinologist is suggesting prolia post evenity. Would be very Interested to know what your prolia journey is like when you begin.

I was put on Prolia & did very well. 6 months later had dental issues & was told by my specialists too get off of Prolia. As long as you don’t have any dental issues I would recommend Prolia. I had NO side effects from Prolia either. I’m now on Evenity & like you will need post Evenity medication. Still have 7 more months before I need too worry!

I was put on Prolia & did very well. 6 months later had dental issues & was told by my specialists too get off of Prolia. As long as you don’t have any dental issues I would recommend Prolia. I had NO side effects from Prolia either. I’m now on Evenity & like you will need post Evenity medication. Still have 7 more months before I need too worry!

@lab54 I did not know you could take Evenity after Prolia. My docs do it the other way round. I guess there is no data yet so let us know how it goes!

Usually Prolia comes after Evenity but I only had one shot of Prolia & the only reason I got off of it was because the dental specialists told me too. I had dental issues & they felt Prolia could have contributed to some of my issues. Then 2 years passed by & my t-scores weren’t good so my Rheumatologist put me on Evenity. I had NO side effects from Prolia but do with Evenity. I’m trying too hang in there but I see my doctor tomorrow too see where I go from here? Thanks for reaching out. Greatly appreciate it!

I am 74 1/2 and just started Evenity. I saw my cardiologist before I started and he said ok. So far, I have had no difficulty or side effects other than being a tired earlier in the evening on the day of the shots and the day after.

I am 75 and no one seemed to be worried about my age. Just finished up 6 mo of Evenity shots two weeks ago.

I just had my first injections of Envinity this morning. I, too, am supposed to go on Prolia after my last injections. I was on Reclast infusions for the last three years, but my bone density dept getting worse. I hope the Evenity and Prolia will help. I am almost 70 years old.

Hi,
I just had my first injections Aug 8, today is day 5 after. The first 2 nights I slept fine, the third I felt exhausted but had to take extra sleep meds to even get any sleep at all. I have chronic insomnia so thought maybe it was just a bad night, but last night never felt at all tired and struggled to get any sleep. 98% of the time normally I can fall asleep but can’t stay asleep, so this is different from my norm. My sleep problems go back years and led to one stay in a hospital psych unit when nothing got me decent sleep (tried multiple OTC and Rx meds). This is one side effect that I will quit this drug over, unless it only lasts a couple more nights. My mental health can’t take it.

Thank you for sharing. I am to start Evenity tomorrow afternoon. How are you feeling after the first shot? Did anyone tell you why Reclast did not help? In fact, why it got worse!

Thank you for sharing. By "just started" do you mean one day ago? Have you had any side effects at all? I am to start my infusions tomorrow afternoon.
