Erectile Issues three months after urethroplasty - is this normal?

You will notice that we expanded your discussion title a little to better describe your question and help members with experience find the discussion. I did find some information that talks about the problem.

"Recent findings: With a rise in the use of urethroplasty, its impact on sexual function has come into question. For anterior urethroplasties, some degree of erectile dysfunction is common, but this tends to be transient, with most patients having a resolution of any de novo dysfunction by 12 months."

Did your doctor or care team offer any information on the risks or recovery?

Absolutely! My Urologist and I are very communicative but wondering if other men who have gone through the same surgery are healing in a similar way and what their healing timing is back to normal sexual activity.

I’m possibly looking at urethraplasty due to anterior urethra problems mostly pain and soreness. A cystoscope shows urethral scar tissue(RP 10/21) but I don’t know where to go for more clarity on what’s next.
I think most of my pain is fossa navicularis and meatus. Could have been catheter, and cystoscope did not help because he had to force it through which I’ve since learned should have never been pushed through any restrictions.
My urologists here are no help. Where did you get help?

My bet would be to check in Boston.

I’m originally from Maine and know well Mass General and Tufts Medical Center…..they will certainly be able to refer you to a good urologist.
