Ensifentrine (Ohtuvayre)

I’ve read of some folks taking Ensifentrine on this Board as well as on Copdfoundation.org’s COPD360social. A few have had GREAT results and some have not found it helpful. It’s like all treatments, you have to see how well it helps YOU as an individual. I believe it’s most helpful to folks who have a lot of mucus vs those of us who rarely have much.

It’s a nebulized medication taken 2x/day. There are discount programs but the manufacturer’s recommended price is fairly high. It was just approved in late 2024.

I've not had good luck getting the Ohtuvayre vials to mix properly. Mine get cloudy but with clumps of white still in it. Can't find anyone who can tell me if it's safe to take. Seeing my pulmonologist in a couple of weeks so maybe he can tell me. Very frustrating. Even filed the issue with the company but no answer yet.

The pharmacy that sends me the meds is VERY helpful. If their customer service can’t answer my questions they put me in touch directly with pharmacist. Mine is Centerwell pharmacy. Not sure who supplies yours.
Try warming vial in enclosed palm of your hand. Meds Not effective if not fully dissolved. Keep shaking.

After shaking vigorosuly mine turns milky, I am thanking that is normal

I have tried warming it in my hands and that doesn't help. The clear liquid does turn a little milky but not close to a pale yellow. Verona Pharma supplied it. They're very nice but haven't resolved the issue for me as yet.

I think it's very expensive - my co-pay is 575.00 a month. That's a lot of money! Plus I take Trelegy and other meds. It all adds up!

Some folks are getting some relief for Medicare medications with the new $2000/yr prescription drug cap. Sadly the nebulized meds don’t fall under that cap.

Who makes these decisions? Geez...medicine is medicine.

Google and log into Patient Advocate Foundation, Co-pay Relief. They opened a fund for COPD and you can see if you qualify for financial help.

For some reason, Rx delivered by nebulizer are part B medicare while other Rx are part D.
