Effexor side effects and withdrawal effects
My daughter was on Effexor for ten years and started having heart palpitations, now after tapering to stop heart palpitations, she can't eat anything without throwing up and having diarrhea. Has anyone been successful at getting off it with onside effects doing a long taper? It's been two trips to er for fluidIV and many tests and she is still very sick after a week. She is talking 37 ml still..

@egkamb It was rough. When I finally realized that it was a symptom of withdrawal (after being totally off the drug for a couple of months), I resumed a lower dose of Effexor (50 mg tablets). My symptoms, including the gagging, resolved quickly, confirming that I was in withdrawal. I researched the issue, learned about hyperbolic tapering, found a local independent pharmacist who created a liquid solution for me, and started tapering for the third time. At decreases of no more than ten percent at a time, I am down to a daily dose of 12.5 mg, and just switched from the liquid to counting the granules in a 37.5 mg Effexor capsule, because it's simple enough to count out one-third of those granules for my daily dose. When I'm ready for the next 10% decrease, I'll remove that many more beads, and so on until I'm down to zilch.
