Ed after TURP proceedure

Wanting to know if there is a cure for ED after a TURP procedure. I had a TURP procedure in 2024. I have retrograde ejaculation with masturbation. I cannot have intercourse. Once I start thrusting, my semi hard erection, completely disappears.

Try Trimix. Works great and no real injection pain.

I had a TURP procedure over 15 years ago. It worked to enable better urine flow for about a month, then I got an intense need to urinate every 30 minutes or so, so bad that I actually considered wetting my pants on a commuter bus (I had urinated just before I got on the bus). No ED, but retrograde ejaculation, a hallmark of the TURP and (as i understand) irreversible.

So, back to the urologist. When I saw him after a second TURP, he said that he had really fixed it now, but gave me a package of Viagra and said “you will need these from now on, I purposefully destroyed many nerves in your prostate to make sure that we get this TURP to work”. (A decade later and I had urine retention again and had a UroLift procedure, followed several years later with an Aquablation, both of these procedures weren’t available over 15 years ago but now are, and do not come with the same ED risk as TURP did/does).

The Viagra worked for years, but I was always anxious that my erection wouldn’t occur leading up to sex. Masturbation was always fine, no Viagra required, as no anxiety of ED since no-one else was involved.

Just last month my wife and I were away on vacation, and I discovered I had left my Viagra at home. I was amazed at being able to perform very well, and no side-effects from the Viagra. I have recovered my confidence at not needing the drug, although still wary of an erection failure. I assume the nerves had “grown back”, not sure how that happens.

Have you talked to your urologist? Couples therapy can help with the anxiety. I learned that the anxiety is really a deal breaker.
