ECT for severe depression

Posted by apportee @apportee, Oct 4, 2016

Hi @cowboy1997.i have had my share of ECT'ts. ECT'ts was the last results for me. They worked. I am a little forgetful and I lost some of my past. I don't remember being depresses, my family said I was severely depressed I am living a healthy life now. Once I need awhile I do get depressed and have had to go back in the hospital, but not for long. At first I tried to hurt myself and that is putting it mildly. Good luck. I know you and your family will make the right decision.

Glad it worked for you! are you on any meds? If it happens again you may consider TMS it's much safer!

Why are they not making tms available to everyone with insurance?

Can't answer that but know that Medicare and Tricare approve it!

Welcome to Connect, Aztec. Here is some information about transcranial magnetic stimulation from Mayo Clinic http://mayocl.in/1QmRxP3

@cowboy1997, you mentioned that you were starting TMS earlier this fall. Can you share your experience with Aztec? What is the procedure like? Has it helped? Have you noticed any side effects?
