Suffering from horrible side effects! Anyone else?

Agree about the knee ablation. Had a friend who had it done. Much bruising and discomfort after. Procedure did not provide any relief.

By your comment, do you mean that the ablation didn't help, or that it wasn't painful? I'm scheduled for this on my right knee in about a week, and wondered if I'll be able to drive home on the day the procedure is performed, as I have to travel about 80 miles to the clinic.

The nerve ablation really did not do anything for me in either knee. I have had several rounds of steroid shots which did help for a while. I have since had OrthoVisc hyaluronic acid injections and Durolane. The drawback with OrthoVisc is it takes 3 injections one week apart, where Durolane is a one injection deal. OrthoVisc helped with my osteoarthritis fairly well for about 5 months. The Durolane has been in for about a month. I still have pain but not as bad. Its a crapshoot at best, but I am not interested in knee replacements. Something better will hopefully come along for all of us. Good luck in which ever way you go.

Hi Kelse,

Sorry for what you're going through, but it sounds like you're getting some relief.

Out of curiosity, why don't you want a total knee replacement? I had both of mine replaced in 2022 and have been pain free. With the exception of impact activities, very active in the gym.

Anyway, these decisions are always up to the individual. I'm just curious about your decision not to have TKR.

(And it would be great if medical science could figure out 1) how to stop the advance of osteoarthritis and 2) how to find a replacement for cartilage.)

All the best.

Joe
