Yes,she was on vacation, I was told by another doctor there to wait for a couple of weeks more that sometimes it can take three weeks to find relief. Five weeks after I had the injections I called again and then was offered a knee block and then ablation. I had a Cervical radio frequency ablation and I ended up with more pain in my neck than before the ablation. After that experience I decided not to have radio frequency ablation on my knees. I really don’t know how to proceed with any treatment right now
I have severe osteoarthritis in both knees, right knee worse than left, for about 4 years now. I adopted a rescue dog that has hip dysplasia and was prescribed monthly injections of Adequan to ease hip joints and relieve pain.
Really seem to help and I wondered why they don't have something similar for humans in the U.S. FINALLY researched and found manmade hyaluronic acid injections that are used for human knees. Had both knees injected 9/21/23 with Durolane 60mg/3ml by my orthopedic surgeon; mild side effects. Injection didn't help right knee much so proceeded with total knee replacement on 11/1/23. Itching began 2 weeks post surgery right at the knee - I assumed it was part of healing process. Itching increased and I developed a spreading rash that went from right ankle up to right hip. Then itching started at left knee. Hydrocortisone cream 1% and Benedryl didn't help enough so I saw my ortho surgeon and he prescribed Dexamethasone 4 mg tablets, 2 tabs twice a day for 4 days, then 1 tab a day for 4 days. BAD side effects included blurry/glassy vision, dizziness, stomach cramps, chills and significant swelling in lower right leg and ankle. After 2 days I switched to 1 tab a day but after 4 days I stopped altogether. It controlled the itching and the rash was gone but now, 2 weeks later, itching down at ankle and swelling has returned. Is there any possibility the Durolane could have caused the itching/rash/leg swelling since it was over 1.5 months since injections? My surgeon never shared what he thought caused the itching/rash/swelling - just prescribed a steroid to control it. Maybe the surgery "released" the Durolane from the joint area and that's why the right knee was so much worse than the non-surgery left knee? Any thoughts would be appreciated. A side note: I have had 5 total hip replacements and developed heavy metal poisoning from the implants so for my right knee my surgeon used Smith and Nephew Oxinium that has NO nickel in the implant materials. I haven't changed any of my other medications.

Agree about the knee ablation. Had a friend who had it done. Much bruising and discomfort after. Procedure did not provide any relief.
