Duodenal ulcer and h. pylori
I was having stomach pain that got better after I ate. I went to the immediate care clinic and the doctor said he thought it was a duodenal ulcer and prescribed pantoprozole and sucralfate. When I saw my regular doctor I asked if I should be tested for h. pylori and she said pylori doesn't cause duodenal ulcers.
Has anybody else heard this? Everything I have found so far indicates that pylori causes ulcers but makes no distinction for duodenal ulcers.
I will appreciate any input.
thanks
Kathie

Wishing u all the best. Speedy recovery
Don’t take aspirin or ibuprofen. Don’t eat spicy foods and cut the acid. Take a PPI to cure it. Ask your doctor if you should take it.

Hi I'm taking pantoprazole and sucralfate and it seems to help.
@riflemanz64 What is PPI?
Proton pump inhibitor.
Pantaprazole, omperazole etc.
they reduce the acid from your stomach.

1 ReactionHi, @larry68
There are several different proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). @riflemanz64 lists a couple.
Here is some general information about how they may help acid reflux (gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD) and peptic ulcer:
