I’m Also going back to swishing a mixture of mylanta and childrens Benadryl my former retired told me to swish in my mouth and NOT swallow after eating. A thing is worth trying.
I've given up omeprazole, famotidine, Tums, Rolaids, Coca-Cola syrup and all of the other stuff, including Emetrol when necessary, that I was taking to tame stomach stuff by going all the way back to my grandmother's "cure" of a teaspoon of baking soda in 8 ounces of water at night.
It seems to work fine. I don't have high blood pressure so that might be a concern for those who do. But it's a relief to stop taking all of that as those meds invariably triggered constipation and/or gas. Which then required other over-the-counter stuff. It was like being on a GI tract merry-go-round!
For what it's worth, things got better within the first 48 hours so it might be worth a try.
I have an appointment with my dentist next week. I have not found a new Rhematogist close but my Physician has set me up with a dietician finally covered by my insurance and I have a video appointment with them next week. I could call my rheumatologist that I saw a year ago and confirmed all my autoimmune problems at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale. It’s far to travel but maybe I could talk to them on phone. My last GP that retired had me use childrens benadral and Mylanta to swish in mouth two years ago. This problem had cleared up so I quit doing this but it start it again now to see if this helps. Thank you so appreciate your reply. Last night was the worst I’ve been ever with the nausea. It’s a struggle to cope with the awful taste, mouth sores and thickness with swallowing. But the nausea made it much worse. Just so fatigued! I must get more nutrition they say but it’s not easy finding foods you can swallow with sjogrens. Thank you again! So much!

Have you called Mayo, Scottsdale to try to get a virtual appointment with your former doctors?
If you haven't done so, consider seeing a gastroenterologist. GI tract issues, including GERD, can trigger bad or sour tastes (related to acid reflex) and weird changes in salivation. Just a thought if ENT and oral care practitioners get nowhere. I had something different, but also unusual, and saw a bunch of specialists to no avail. I later mentioned it in passing to a gastroenterologist and he immediately named it and we fixed it within a few weeks. It never occurred to me that this could have been related to stomach stuff.
I am seeing the dentist for my regular cleaning this week but nothing has changed and they have made an appointment Arizona school of Dentistry and oral health by Dentist says the Doctors there know so much more about the mouth than a regular Dentist. Then I have appointment at my GI doctor in august trying to get in sooner if they have cancellations.
I have an upcoming wedding in family to go to in October my Doctor has Siggy I take a medication as a preventative six weeks before going to this event . Wondering if anyone has heard of it “Evusheld” it has to be ordered and I’d give. With two injections. Thank you. Don’t know whether I should just go to my family event masked of course and be cautious so many people Or take this drug. I have side effects to so many things. The last booster shot (2) booster gave me much more side effects than the other three Covid injections. (Pfizer). Just wondering if anyone had heard of this “Evusheld “. Thank you!

Yes I’m going to do that more and my GI doctor. I have had so many side effects from so many drugs. I might be better off just going and being as extremely careful as I can be. Thank you. Yes there will at least two emergency room doctors. That’s what my Granddaughter and her new husband are and I assume probably a few more. We have read the side effects over again and with my history of side effects from other autoimmune medication and more we have decided just to go and be as Careful as we can without this additional fear of side effects. If the next booster is available before the event do you suggest having it? Thank you!
