How do you deal with dry eyes?

I have dry eyes due to sjogren's syndrome. Does anyone else deal with dry eyes?

I have dry eyes. I use prescription eye drops. Also crusty stuff in the inner part of my eyes. I wipe it off with qtips. within an hour it's back. This happens all day every day.

Has your doctor mentioned Demodex mites? Blepharitis? Ocular rosecea?

If he/she doesnt know about Demodex, change doctors. Mine finally told me after years of Blepharitis and gave me a prescription for Xdemvy, which kills them in 42 days (taje the drops religiously 2x/day). I asked her why she never told me before and she said there hadn't been a cure before and people freaked out when they found out about the mites.

But we all have them.

Your problem could be something else but the crusties are usually Demodex. My eyesight improved and a headache I had on one side of my head for months was gone within two weeks. Good luck!

I had a terrible mite infestation. It started slowly and then accelerated as the mite population increased. A course of xDemvy got rid of them, but I know they will return. There is no permanent 'cure'. The mites are everywhere. There are some lid wipes with tea tree oil in them. Tea tree oil will kill mites, so it will help. If you have a large infestation, you really need xDemvy eye drops.

@iris623g
I live in AZ for one year now (move from NC and had dry eyes), the fans make my eyes get more irritated than central AC. I am on Xiidra and use it at nights, eyes do get stingy, but they calmed down after one hour or so. I also use Thera Tears during the day when eyes get irritated by pollen or dust.

@joriv6 , plugs helped me a lot too, but I still need ointment at night and Systane hydrating drops in the day as needed. I also have Salzman’s nodules, that are aggravated by dry eye. So, it’s imperative I stay on top of it. The plugs have helped a great deal.

@joriv6 I have plugs as well and they do help. I had never heard of them before.

Warm eye pads a few times a day loosens up the oil glands. Plus, feels relaxing.
