double bypass with 90 and 100% blockage
I am 82 and scheduled for a double bypass early next year. Is it possible to have the 90% blockage stented and consider the chronic total occlusion for the 100% blocked artey? Can I live with a stent repair on the 90% artery alone?

My guess is yes. In my well-aged father's case, who was then 87, they found that one carotid was fully occluded and they were not going to touch that one. The other was 90% blocked, and they offered to do a 'runaround' on that one...which worked (endarterectomy). It was only when he was deemed stable and viable that he got what he really wanted, which was a hip replacement. He now has two metal hips, and he's still mobile at 94.
If the medicos say they can do it, and that the procedure is expected to extend your life with reasonable quality, I know what I would do. 😀
