Dog Friendly Hotel, clean, near Gonda Bldg and reasonable

Posted by alexcard @alexcard, Oct 1 5:50pm

Recommendations: Will be at Mayo- Rochester and looking for a hotel that would be convenient to appts. at the Gonda Bldg. Pet would be kenneled in room and alone for a couple hours. Dog doesn't mind being kenneled. Do not need a deluxe hotel, just something CLEAN, friendly, reasonably priced, and near place for dog to do her outdoor business. A refrigerator and continental breakfast would be nice. Thank you.

My appts are always at Gonda and we use the free shuttle at Homewood Suites because they are dog friendly and have a great neighborhood to walk them in and a park for longer walks. For longer days filled with appts we can walk them to Central Bark about six blocks away to board them for the day and they come back happy and exhausted; they start to bark in excitement when we walk in the direction of the daycare. The hotel does do a free decent breakfast and the rooms have kitchens with everything but an oven. They are also within a couple blocks of different priced restaurants. The hotel is very quiet. Ask for the Mayo patient discount when booking and call the hotel directly because the 800 # will be clueless on the discount.

Good morning. There are many hotels near the Downtown campus that are within walking distance of Gonda. Both Hilton hotels are pet friendly and Hotel Indigo is dog friendly as well.

Anyone stay at the Kahler Inn and Suites
right across from Gonda with their pet?

REPLY

Yes - we stayed there with our two German Shepherds several years ago. It was very nice - and our shepherds enjoyed it.
We now stay at the Residence Inn which is a block or two away. We have one shepherd. We stay at the Residene Inn because their suites have full kitchens. However, it doesn’t matter because so many restaurants deliver directly to hotels that you don’t really need full kitchens. As I remember, Kahler suites had small refrigerators.

Thank you to all for your recommendations. We are going to try the Gonda because of the location. I'll let you know how it is after our stay.
